Found in a roll tonight! I am torn on this one EF for sure, but slim slide to AU? I Love the strike but the verdigris is frustrating me. Will soak in VC to see if it improves a lil. What say ye?

I'm at EF-45...better than the VF I have and the strike is way sharper!

I can get on board with EF45. I don't detect any luster and I can't quite see the wheat lines very well. It looks like it may have been cleaned at some point but that could also be the near rampant verdigris as well.

That sure is an awesome roll find though! I hope you come back with some after pics after you verdi-care this one. Curious to see how much of it comes off.

I'm thinking this is an AU53-55, it looks like it may have had an old cleaning also.

I also suspect uneven color that could be the sign of cleaning. Otherwise EF40

Thanks for the replies. I agree it is tough to tell from the pics I posted. It's much better in hand, the wheat lines are full, separated and sharp, the verdigris has spread rampantly throughout the coin (outwardly--->in), dark discoloration, which makes it look as though it may have been cleaned improperly at one time, which it probably has been, thus causing the verdrigris. It does have very little luster (Lincoln's head/hair is about it).

I'm headed to the PNNA convention in Tukwila in a couple weeks and while there will stop in Seattle to pick up some photography things I need to take better photos. I have been studying the photography forums relentlessly. Photos are a major frustration for me.

EF-40/45 details, happy with the find and it is definitely saved/rescued from further damage.

Nice find!

EF40/45, too much wear for AU. Good luck on the conservation!

I really like the definition between the cheek and the jaw. Also there is not much wear on the high spots.

I'm at EF-45.
