So I forgot to share this in my post about this last weekend's coin show, and after thinking about it I figured it was worth its own thread.

Like I said my son went with me and another type coin that caught his attention this year was the merc dimes. He like wingend liberty, however, his thought were this... "She kinda looks like Flash Gordon, with her wings on her head..."

He now calls them Lady Flash dimes.

Funny!

What you do now: Wait for twenty years or so and at a family get together
show off a Mercury dime and ask your son if he remembers calling it a Lady Flash Dimes.
Sure to get a few laughs as he denies it!

That one Flash (w/hat) is closer to the original Roman Mercury than the Liberty on the dime.

52Raymo - Yes we found two really good Lady Flashes....good price...the one guy basically gave it to him.

mackwork - like any out of tune dad I goofed on the original post, originally Drew said "the flash" not flash Gordon. He is way into the super heros.

He is just one of many that have all kinds of different opinions on who it is or who it looks like. I still think it's a male, not a female at all.
