There is no such thing as a stupid question. What do you think?
Thanks,
Deb

The mint mark location on your coin is farther north than 007. There is another with a mint mark location that looks close, but the doubling is stronger than your coin.

Tip of the day: Mint marked coins help identify doubled dies a lot faster. So use them as a first marker. The location doesn't change.

So is it a DDO or not? Could it be an earlier die state then the 1DO-012? I mean, they are really really close. My pictures are getting better huh? Been working on it.
Thanks Coop!

Tough call. If it were stronger there would not be a second thought? I'd keep this one till you find out for sure. Always harder to re-find them when you toss them into storage.

There is one that CONCECA lists that looks like it might be a match to coppercoins 012. But the hub doubling is stronger on these two than your coin. The overall shape of the 9 looks pretty uniform and not looking hub doubled. But I would keep it for now.

Your images are improving. The next step if to cut the glare that hits the tops of the devices. This can be done by diffusing the light. Place a piece of plastic grocery bag between the light and the coin and see if this cuts the glare. If not try a piece of typing paper or a facial tissue. This will remove the glare and let the light through. If you have a hot bulb, keep the diffuser from touching it. Looking forward to your next images.
Here is a set of images of a normal coin, 2-4 star hub doubling. I'm thinking your coin might be a 1 star. Very minor hub doubled.

Well I did an overlay and it is 1944D-1DO-001. The location was a dead on match and the hub doubling on the 9 is a match. Nice find. Not having the images the same size makes it more confusing.
