Have noticed there is a difference in the 7 on these coins. One is shorter than the more normal 7. I assume it's just a die variety. From what I can tell it seems to appear on both Canberra and Perth Minted coins. Also doesn't seem to be scarce, or is it?

It almost looks like a filled die but if it is common as you suggest then its a bit odd.

I have come across many 1975 2c coins and have not seen one as yet

Perhaps it is not that common

Looks like a problem with the whole die in the top picture.
