Missing the back! There is a very light trace of where the motto should be and something right under where the stairs should be.

My vote: the reverse has been scratched off.

Not sure if it's possible for half the coin to be blank, and if it were possible, I'd imagine the back would be smooth.

You could always weigh the coin and see if it comes out way under what it should.

PSD. The reverse has been removed and sanded. The reverse rim is missing. Probably under weight also.

PSD stands for Post-Strike Damage, aka PMD, Post-Mint Damage. It's a damage that occurs after the coin was minted.

The double check would be this cent not weighing as much as a typical copper cent.

I like suing the term PSD because this occurred after the strike. Using the term PMD could be inaccurate. Something happen to a coin before it left the mint. So the term PSD show that it didn't occur during the strike, but after the coin was struck.

The problem with this is that it is possible to grind the entire reverse off a cent and still be within the mint Weight Tolerance.

PMD could also be Post Minting Damage. We just lazy and say post mint.
