Just thought this was odd. It's almost proof-like except that the whole coin has a satin kind of finish. Hard to see in the pictures. Almost a complete set of steps, and it seems like a nice squared rim. I remember reading somewhere about satin finish coins made from used proof dies. What do you guys think?

I can't comment on proof dies being used but it looks like a typical AU nickel from that era. Nice nickel!

Yeah, I guess I'm just not used to seeing a good looking nickel from the 70's. At least not in a bank roll.

Interestingly, I've had better success finding much older nickels in AU condition. But recently, I've tapped into some 60s and 70s Jeffersons worth putting aside. Tough to find the Full Steps, but some rather nice circulation coins to be had.

Keep looking!! You'll find them. ALWAYS check the shiny ones.

I think I've got it's twin. Close on the steps as well. Mine was from a box, so
these beats are still kickin. Nice coin.
