Picked this one up at my dealer today. I "horse traded" with a couple of rolls of common VG to F Morgans for this and a few other goodies..... I'm thinkin' I got a good price, but I'll let you experts judge the grade and guess at a price. I'll fill you in on the price I paid and the grade the dealer gave me after a few replies. Thanks, Rick

I'm thinking 35 or 40, and prime for the grade, limited by the lack of luster. A really nice, clean (in the good sense) coin. Two rolls of common circulated Morgans is a darn good trade for this one, if you got something else besides.

At first I was wondering why anyone would trade a couple rolls of common morgans for another morgan. But with a mintage of 300,000 and in that condition I understand why.

Solid VF+ with just a minor blemish under curls obverse and I1 reverse. Strong rims, very nice.
I love the 93's, they're the only ones I kept when I broke up the last set I completed.

Well, you guys are Right On! (even better than right on!) My dealer called it VF-30 cleaned, and priced it at $270! I couldn't pass that up and also snagged a 1878-CC MS-60+ (toned), a 1879-O MS-62, and an 1886-S AU slider, all in trade for three rolls of VG-F commons. I'm a happy camper! Especially 'cuz the 1893-O looks almost EF to me...... Here's some color pics with the camera... the others were scanned. It's been cleaned, but it's got some EF 'feel' going on, if you know what I mean. Thanks, Rick

Your pics expose the harsh cleaning on the obverse...Looks like it is starting to retone nicely. Sounds like you picked a few other great pieces as well...Do we get to see them?

An 1893-O, you just buy, cleaned or not. I like it.

I may be a little late chiming in, but I think the reverse looks XF and the obverse is a VF+. You gotta what sounds like a heckuva deal.
