But I had to! Better to ask forgiveness than permission? Bought another key, so I'm going to be selling off some coins to pay for it. Unfortunately she took the camera to NC and I need that to post them on ebay. So maybe tonight I'll borrow one. I'll keep you guys posted when some of my stuff goes up in the "post your auctions" forum. It's a 1922 no D "strong reverse" PCGS G-6. I checked some auctions and the 22 Plain seems to be extremely hard to find in such low grades. And the higher grade examples are enormously expensive. I paid $588, a bit more than I wanted to. But I don't think I got totally raked under the coals. The only two Goods I found on Heritage were as follows: ANACS G4 January 8, 2007 $517.50 PCGS VG10 February 6, 2007 $690.00 So for my (soon to be started) brown wheat set, the two major keys are done. Only thing left is the 1955 DDO and I think my set will have to live without it. Now I can casually purchase the commons here and there, and the semis when the time is right. Here's some pictures Edited by USArmyParatrooper 07/28/2007 10:01 pm

Been there done that, better to ask for permission. I bought a 1799 Bust Dollar in a PCGS holder last summer that put me in the doghouse for quite some time. Given that yours serves in the Army, I would be ducking and covering about now.

My wife wants to kill me almost ever day she gets the mail, lol. My daughter loves me every time we get mail. today we got two packages, one is a key to my collection as well, a 25 % off center Buffalo nickel, wife would just die if she knew the cost. I am constantly selling other errors to fund these purchases. error

Scottish, if it's the one I'm thinking (you posted?) it's a beauty! Several months ago I was looking for one. I absolutely love those! It would be so awesome to own such a great part of history, one of the very first Federal issues from when our country was barely old enough to drink!

You know, I liked it when I bought it, but I didn't by the time it came in the mail. It was not my largest purchase, but it was not one that the boss knew about. It is going to be sold sometime in the next couple of months. I just like that it has not been cleaned, tampered with etc. It has much better eye appeal than coins that get higher grades too.
Maybe you need to send something nice(and NOT cheap) to your better half, and quick.

It has great eye appeal for the grade. Just to think, I sold a choice VF (strong reverse) a couple of years ago (it had been lightly cleaned, but nothing too atrocious) for $725.

I was just thinking about what to buy her! You're psychic. Dog house or not your bust dollar is gorgeous. You should have no problem finding high bidders. I was reading in CDN that more and more buyers are looking for coins that are PQ for the grade.

Wow. I bet that would sell for well over a grand today, even cleaned. On this one I'm speculating a nice increase. Mid grades are starting to grow out of reach for most buyers, and the low grades are hard to come by.

Very very attractive dollar, Scottishmoney. If you decide to let her go, I hope you will give us all a chance to get into trouble.

USP you can get the 95DDO now for around 20-50 bucks. I just got one the day before yesterday and I only paid $26.00 for it. a very nice MS-64 to boot. so they cant be that expensive to get unless I found a killer deal and I don't hit them often Gary

LOL... The only advise I have is to remind the loved one that there are other worse things that you could be addicted to... At least the coin(s) you bought/buy have the potential to go up in value!

Gary, I think you misread me. It's the 1955 I'm talking about. But you do bring up a good point. Get in with the 95 while the price is still manageable.
