I have been hearing chatter that the link to report numismatic items directly to CCW on ebay is going to stop working tomorrow May 9th. That is the same link which is on this forum. Bobby or anyone else, can you confirm this? If true, this is a really big problem.

The link is working, but as of yesterday I no longer receive a reply that the report has been received, or any kind of follow-up, which in the past I received within 24 hours.

Here is a copy of the message some people received from ebay, this was posted in the ebay community coins & paper money discussion board: "Dear valued member, We are writing in regard to your participation in the following channel of communication: DL-eBay-CD-CCW@corp.ebay.com We'd like to thank you for your active involvement and contribution to this program. We have undergone a recent shift in strategy. Effective May 9th, 2014 the use of this communication channel will no longer be used. If you would like to report listings that you believe are in violation, please use one of the channels found in our help pages: http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies...olation.htmlOnce again, thank you for your efforts in improving the marketplace and being a respected member of the ebay community. Sincerely, ebay"

Don't know what that is, but it's not what I've been using with tremendous success for years.

If they actually do stop paying attention to that method of reporting then it will mean that their "recent shift in strategy" is that they have decided not to bother trying to pull fraudulent auctions or counterfeits.

I used the link this morning and received back a copy of what I'd written. Though the coin in question is still listed..

I think we are confusing an e-mail address with an actual link.
The e-mail address is no longer being monitored, but the "Report Item" link (more specifically, its generated form) is.

That's what I was trying to say too jbuck. That is not what we've been using. We've been using the form at http://www.ebay.com/ccw which does not go to that email address.

Interesting. Has anyone had success getting any fakes pulled using the form in the past 3 or 4 days?

I reported one of our favorite Morgan scammer listings last night and it was removed.

OK I thought he meant the reporting link was going away. The link is still working and it is still the best way to report fraudulent coin auctions, counterfeits etc.
