While looking through a hoard of coins of all kinds that I came in possession of every thing from Morgan and Peace dollars, all the way down to Indian Head cents.
At the time I was looking through a hand full of pennies. I noticed one that looked a little odd after taking a closer look, realized it was minus the rim.
Got my magnifying glass out and took a closer look and sure enough there is no rim, all of the date is just 193 the forth number is missing no room for it to be on the coin.
Have any of you penny penchers ever come across any thin like this. I wish I could send a picture but my camera is on vacation so when it gets back I'll see what I can do..
Well just wanted to share that with you all no telling what else will come out of this mess of coinage.
Rest in Peace

Without seeing it, it is impossible to know what happened to it.

There is a really good chance that it is post mint damage. It could have been ground down just for no reason at all. People do strange things to coins.

Anyway, post a pic when you can and somebody here will be able to tell you for sure.
