For circulated quarters, they can bw quite difficult to see. Remember what I showed you about the 1969-S cent and the
Machine Doubling. It applies to most coins in respect to the
Machine Doubling.
Take a look at this example. It shows a touch of "extra thickness" BUT the corners on most letters are NOTCHED:
