I recently bought a 67FB merc on ebay to upgrade my collection - by far the most I've paid for a dime - and then listed the 66FB merc I replaced it with on ebay.

Found it ironic that the same "hi volume" dealer that sold me the 67FB then bought the 66FB from me. With all the folks on ebay, I just found it ironic that we "swapped" grades. I bought for $600 below retail list, and sold for $36 over list(I think that list price is too low tho - one of those low anomolies). I'm guessing they have a customer itchin for the 66FB. I do remember now that it took me a while to find it originally.

I'm not a hi volume seller, but I don't think I've sold anything to a dealer on ebay before. All of my prior sales have been to individual collector's (from what I could tell by their account name and volume).

It is possible that dealer had someone interested in the 66FB. They could have been putting together a 66FB set, or maybe they had bid on the one you bought and was too low $, or the 66FB fit their budget better. Personally, I would probably have been the later.

I'm surprised, as a dealer, that they didn't have a separate buying account.

Fuzzy, they had SOLD me the 67FB, then the same dealer bought my 66FB from me.

I too thought most hi volume type dealers had different accounts Ssup. But I actually don't think ebay should allow more than 1 account for any one individual or company. Too likely to have some kind of scam - or intent to hide - when they do. Get a bad rep and rating as one ID, just open another and the slate is wiped clean? Not good! IMO, shill bidding and bearding should be prevented all around. JMHO

Same dealer now lists 2 66FB's for that year at $10 less than they paid me for mine. A bit strange. They do move a lot of coins tho.
