Well, I got my oldest find in circulation last night. I went with my girlfriend and her mom to a baseball game and we rode in her car. Of course I went directly to the change compartment and I found a 1918 (I think) Wheat cent. Also found a 1945. So far this is my oldest find, beats my last cent by 17 years. What a beauty... she's old and worn but heck a find is a find I can't tell 191 8 but if that is what it looks like in hand I'll go with it I've found several 1919's and my oldest CRH find is a 1913, I had to buy my 1909vdb, but it's not the same as FINDing it

Thank you. In hand it's hard to tell what it is too. I was thinking it could be 1916 or 1914 but after comparing it to others 1918 looks to be the closest.

Nice, I always get excited to find a pre-1940 wheat. I've actually found a 1909 plain and my oldest find in general was an 1897 V nickel :D

My first thought was 1916, but I can't really tell...

If it's a 1918 there will be a little VDB under Lincoln's shoulder, otherwise more investigation will be needed.

I thought it was 14 ....when I looked and that was before I read your post saying 18.. Pennies go back probably farthest...In Canada for me I found 40's and 50's, and my oldest circ find I guess was 21 ....had to get lots of 1c to look through first though...

Ok so I'm not seeing the VDB anywhere on it. I'm stumped.

Here is another photo. It looks like 1910 in this picture. Also you can see no VDB in this picture.

OK yeah I'm seeing 1910!... the middle of the '0' zero is not indented to make it an '8' one year away from the oldest Lincoln! BUT the 1910 I have shows a more rounded '0' ..... well I'm sure we can all agree it is NOT a 1982!

That's what I was just checking too... It still doesn't match up. I'm calling this a date with a numerical digit no human has ever seen before on this world. Somehow it was dropped through the cracks of the space time continuum from a parallel universe where only this date exists. And now it is for sale for a measly million bucks. I answer emails on a first come first serve basis. Not everyone at once now.
