Let me first start by saying that I'm a very basic and novice collector... I certainly don't have any "stand out" pieces or anything that's regarded as "RARE"

But I was thinking... I would like to create something where people could click on a link and see some of the photos I may have taken for my collection...

See the one thing that really fascinates me is what other people find interesting or enjoyable to collect. I love how this is a sharing commuunity and I would like to share with you guys some pics of my collection....

My question.... how would one go about that? What site would be a good one to upload photos which others could easily look at if they wanted to....

I don't really want to upload and post 200 photos in a thread here... but was thinking of something like photobucket or something similar.. Anyone have any experience with this and wish to share what they prefer to use?

I think CCF has a Members Photo Gallery. I don't know if there are any rules around it but you can find it under the 'Stuff for Members' on the left hand side.

Looking through other peoples collections as a viewer I have found Flickr to be one of the easiest and most user friendly websites for just flipping through.

Edit: Also, completely random off topic...did you manage to make it to the show downtown on the 11th? If you didn't next month is their last show before they break for the summer.

No I didn't .. to be honest this time of year is just CRAZY where I barely get more than 1 hr to myself especially on weekends...

But if you're keen on going perhaps send me a message and we can meet up... I'd love to chat coins with more people and put a face to the name...

Post in the support section a request for a CCF Photo Gallery. You can load them there, and then post easily. You can post them in the Main Coin Section (non-country specific), or if they are only for a certain country maybe post in that area.

I don't know if I will be able to make it out to the next one. Currently a little too far in the future and if the weekend happens to by nice I will most likely not be in the city.

i cataloged my one from each country collection and put it on photobucket, the link is in my signature.

it works but I would prefer a cleaner/non commercial interface. the bonus is that photobucket doesn't use CCF resources and you aren't limited to file size etc.

That's the problem I have with using CCF... I'm not exactly computer savy... I love posting here on the forum... but for the time it takes for me to take a photo... load the photo onto the computer... then image it.. crop it and upload it to a CCF post ... well it's just a very very long process for me...

Wade I know you're pretty savy with the computers so if you say photobucket is pretty good I think I might go ahead and try that and see if like you I can just put a link to the site in my tag.. that way people can either choose to look or not.. I suppose I just want to share .. I get a lot of joy in sharing my collection with others and showing them what I have accumulated.. even if it's really nothing spectacular.. I'm still pretty proud of it!

The taking, editing, cropping and post processing are all still part of it, but after all that you can just click a link and insert it into forum posts. (Photobucket has some simple editing tools built in if you don't happen to have an editing program)
