I have to wonder if it's amphora, ancient jugs for transport and storage.

No clue about the coin thou maybe this would work better in the ancients section

Personally I think they look like seed pods. Cocoa pods come to mind. But it's made more challenging in that the coin is double struck with some of the design of the 'pod' side on the other ..

very interesting though!

Whatever it is, I'm pretty sure it's not ancient. I'd agree with Tom, the double-striking has made it much less legible than it should be.

I don't think we'll get any further with this - there just isn't a good list of these anonymous Falus. It doesn't look too ancient to me and is double-struck (as many of the Afghan series are) to make identification all that harder.
