Lucky Cuss Pillar of the Community United States 4883 Posts	Posted 05/24/2014 9:04 pm Well, to reiterate what I said in the separate prior thread on this coin, it's evidently a Spanish 8 reales struck in Mexico City (it's a bit hard to see the mintmark clearly, though) that looks to be chopmarked indicating its employment in the China trade, where these were widely used. I bought one out of a foreign bullion can in similar condition a month ago gor $20, but that was luck more than anything. $40-50 is more like normal market for collectors.
