That coin is a 1727 Russia 1 ruble, KM#177. It's supposed to weigh 28.44 grams.
But here's the catch: unfortunately, it does not look genuine. Google this: Russia 1727 1 ruble, KM#177. You'll be able to compare yours to a genuine example.
Edit: Link not allowed.

Your coin has the appearance and weight of a Poltina or 1/2 Rouble of Imperial Russia. KM # 176.1. If genuine you will find more details on this web site:- http://www.ngccoin.com/price-guide/world. Enter - Russia 1727 and scroll down the list to Russia 1727 Poltina, 1/2 Rouble Be aware, however, that their are many reproductions of this coin in the marketplace.

50 kopeks = 1/2 rouble = 1 poltina 1727 СП' (SPB : St Petersburg mint) To find if it is silver : if you drop the coin from a height of some cm on a stone flore, you should hear a clear sound. Or you put the coin on the tip of your finger and tap it with something hard plastic, it should also give a clear and bright sound. Compare with an other silver coin. Or you can consult a jewelry. the writing on the coin says : first picture : ЕКАТЕРИНА ИМПЕРАТРЕЩА САМО- "ЕР-ИЦА BСЕРОС (всероссийской)(or something) : Catherina I, all-russian autocrate empress second picture : МОНЕТА НОBАЯ ЦЕНА ПОЛТИНА : moneta nova poltina : new price money poltina 1727 (PS : next week I am in Rimini)

Yes, it would be a half ruble. Quote: To find if it is silver : if you drop the coin from a height of some cm on a stone flore, you should hear a clear sound. Don't do this - you will damage a possibly valuable coin by doing this. No dropping of a coin on any surface, please.

 The differences are quite obvious.

The weight is exactly half of the weight of the rouble.
