I'm not sure if everyone has seen the new Amazon Coin Site or not, but for those without an LCS available, here is another shopping opportunity. http://www.amazon.com/collectiblecoins*** Edited by Staff to make link work. ***

Without checking the asking prices against price guides, if it is anything like the Saddle Ridge Hoard pricing, than no thank you.

The price on the 1907 Ultra-High Relief St. Gaudens is actually pretty reasonable. Now if I could just scrape up $4,000,000...

I've always been leery to purchase coins off of Amazon, I'd rather order them from trusted online coin dealers. I've purchased some foreign currency from Amazon, but that's all. It's a good website for books, not coins.

While I was there looking around at Amazon (thanks for posting info) I saw a link to US Auction Brokers. Look around there and saw not much bidding but some nice coins with low starting bids. Anyone know much about them? They don't seem to tell you much about how they operate.

I know David Lawrence has coins listed on Amazon. I was looking at some Peace dollars and clicked on one. He came up as the seller.

Just looked around the site again. On the lower left of the homepage is a list of sellers. Clicking See More brings up another page with all the listed sellers. Many online dealers listed including Stacks, Kagin, Aspen Park, J.J. Teaparty, etc.

I'm not impressed First, very little there and most of it higher priced items. Their seller input matrix is not tuned for coins, which means you see listings like "1795 no mint mark Silver Dollar Dollar NGC10, Collectible - Like New" - yeah, really, just like that, "Dollar Dollar" and all. I don't know why some people think Amazon is so great. They really are not. Anyone who subscribes to their Prime TV service knows how glitchy their software can be and how little they care. They aren't going to kill ebay. My bet is that this will turn out just like their auction attempt in 1999 - a mass exodus by sellers.

High priced? More like Over priced - example (had to check the 2¢ pieces out - 1864LM MS64RB NGC for $2000 - FMV maybe $400, or 5 times less. The funny thing is the AU 2¢ coins are all pretty close to market price only $15-40 too much, but the MS and PR coins? Forget it.

I agree, not the best avenue to buy from. However, in a pinch you can find those specific coins that you are looking for. Unfortunatly no help for me as I'm cheap and only really do circulated sets and there isn't much of anything for me there. It's just really nice though that it is being accepted widely enough that more avenues for coin purchases are coming about. Now if the pricing became reasonable, but if they are selling at that price, then someone must be buying.
