No, but my dad did. He had a hiding spot in the house, where he kept thousands of cullish '43 steels. After his death, it was discovered by one of my sisters. The loose cents had turned into a rusted blob. I would've given 'bout anything for it. Never seen anything like it. So, if there's a point to this rambling, make SURE you know & trust a family trust administrator, and they're lousy for keeping moisture out. They sure sell well, around here.

they have a rubber seal under the lid, if the seal is compromised the can is useless i keep my ammo in vacuum sealed pouches inside the cans figure coins could be kept the same way

I have several of these. I have BU rolls stored in them. They work well and have a handle on top making them easy to move. About 6 or 7 years ago one of my local dealers had a bunch of these he was selling.

Ha, looks like my problem is the metal cans may be worth more than the coins inside!

I have a few of these that I keep rolls in as well. They also make plastic styles that you can find cheaper. Not sure if they contain PVC but even if they do, the coins are in paper rolls and than I also place a canvas bag on the bottom

Hate to revive an old thread..
I keep most of my stash of copper pennies in these type cans in the closet. So far, so good.
Around here, I used to be able to get the bigger .50 cal cans for $5 and the skinnier cans for $3. You can't hardly find them under $10 anymore.

2 days ago two teenage girls were walking into the bank struggling with one of these in each hand... http://www.lexingtoncontainercompan...MO_CAN_1.jpgAfter a laugh and a welcoming 'Morning ladies!' they unintentionally threw them on my Teller station. Further stating that their father had been collecting his change for 10+years and today was the day to cash them in! (good thinking pops...making the girls do your dirty work!) After 10 solid minutes of sorting this mans change and talking to his daughters, we agreed on a total of 740$. Long story short ( 4 hours of searching ) I ended up with 2 Silver Roosevelt's! Twas a good day! I suppose my point was, This was very cool to see somebody keeping their change in ammo containers! Very cool of you to bring it up!

I keep all my copper pennies in an ammo box. Bought to go through it though because I just purchased an album for pennies that includes 1909 to 2007. Has spaces for all the large and small date stuff.
