All opinions welcome, thanks in advance! Also, does the toning look natural or artificial?

To me the toning is natural
BUT
What I can't tell is whether there was an old cleaning that's naturally retoning.

Thanks, kanga. May I ask you what leads you to suspect there might be an old cleaning?

Any thoughts on grade?

It looks like an old cleaning to me. In my experience, you can tell by how the fields are lighter around liberty.

Toning looms natural butvi suspect a cleaning. Details wise it's around Mid VF.

Toning looks natural to me... Maybe cleaned and refined but I'd say market acceptable. For grade of say it's easily an EF-40... Possibly 45 even

I was also thinking EF 40-45. Thanks for the opinions, all. If anyone else has one, I'd love to hear it.
Rest in Peace

I agree with EF-40. It wouldn't surprise me if this was dipped long ago but if so it has recovered nicely in my opinion.

XF-40. Looks it re-toned in an album over a long period of time. Looks natural to me.
