Any input would be appreciated. I'm not sure how rare this might be that's why I'm posting this. But I am sure that the vertical part of the letter G in the initials FG is not straight like the Close AM. Sorry for the pic its the best I can do. Edited by Dig_North007 05/31/2014 8:28 pm

If this is, I think this would be a neat find!

Agreed this is a WAM ... specifically a 1992 dated coin, where the WAM obverse was used to strike 4.6 billion cents. LOL at the 'rough shape' description ... this coin is alas dead from zinc rot issues. Quote: If this is, I think this would be a neat find! It would be the singular and unique find of a 1993 WAM LMC ... better than 'neat' it would make headlines in the Coin World. Acetone will not IMHO do anything to remove the corrosion or restore the date. Let us know what you find.. David

Send to a grading company for conservation and forward for grading . Could be a valuable coin

Doesn't seem like it's worth the gamble to me -- that cent is toast.

Well I tried it and it did work a bit but not enough to tell. I have access to a high powered microscope it will just take a couple of days and will post the pic. Thanks to all.

Sorry, it sure looks like a 92 to me. As of today, no 1993 WAM has ever been found and personally, I don't think they exist.

Quote: Soak that in some Acetone Acetone is worthless on corrosion other than to dehydrate it. If it was mine, in that condition, I would have held it running water and rubbed the corrosion off with my fingers.

It only missed by one year. Maybe better luck next 100,000 Lincoln Cents you search?
@stev18, I hate to be the only one but your idea was a very bad one. It's not worth risking that much money for something you can probably just restore yourself and see what year.
