I saw a coin on ebay France and put in a bid. After I bid I noticed that the auction said the seller ships to France and that he may not ship to the US. I emailed the seller and explained that I'd put in a bid and asked if he would consider shipping to the US, but he did not respond.

I ended up being the only bidder and won the coin. I've twice requested an invoice from the seller asking for a shipping cost to the US, but he/she has not responded.

Am I out of luck if the seller doesn't respond? Do I have any options? It is a coin I would like to purchase.

It is entirely up to the Seller whether he wants to ship the item to you. He clearly states he only ships to France. He does this for a reason. Looks like he may not have his blocked countries set up properly.

I do not ship internationally because I've been burned one time too many by the notorious "I never received my item" dispute/complaint.

With him not responding to your inquiry I think it's pretty clear he is not interested.

If you won the coin, wait a few days and open a case. Since the seller said they 'might' ship to the US and is not curteous enough to respond, at least opening a case would force the seller to cancel the transaction. Just my .02.

I did use Google Translate to send the message in French.

I think I'll just drop the matter even though it's a rare Roman coin.

Thanks for the responses.

I agree, wait a few days and open a case... It's the best option...
