Just got my package (FedEx) today and I'm actually pretty thrilled, maybe the equivalent of finding a 1909-S VDB in your change. I picked out one of the 1889-S $20's in MS-63, below are the pictures of what were in that FedEx box. In case the load is slow, here is a link to the album: http://s679.photobucket.com/user/El...ddle%20RidgeAfter going through 2 boxes of varying difficulty, this is what was in there. The Saddle Ridge box is made of wood and is fairly heavy. This is on the top inside of the box: Now let's peek inside! There is a booklet about the hoard and the actual coin itself: Closer view of the contents: OK, now to the main event! IMHO, this piece looks better than a 63, but I'll let y'all be the judge. This coin is a blazer in hand, and there are no stains or major hits anywhere. Very happy with this piece. Closer views of the coin, slight different angle of lighting in second set:

Beautiful coin. Correct me if I'm wrong, but that appears to be one of the few coins priced in line with guide.

@ndwlegal, your observation is correct. The 1889-S MS-63's and a handful of other is MS were within reason on the prices. The problem and lower grade ones were way overpriced. The higher grades (64 and over) seemed to be crazy for some of them too. I think the 89-S 63's were the sweet spot. The more common (and lower valued) 92-S's were priced the same as the 89-S's, so figured sticking with the 89-S was the way to go.
Originally, I was going to skip this sale, and if I hadn't seen the 89-S examples, I would have stayed empty-handed.

Popping back in after a very long hiatus simply to say: That is gorgeous. And I like how they did up the packaging, too.
And now back to the hiatus... Just a few more months. Honest :-)

I'm curious to see the PCGS photos that were posted on Amazon. This coin looks cleaner then most that I see posted.

Congratulations! I looked through some of these on Amazon and can't justify the cost right now but that sure is a nice 63.
