I just opened a roll of pennies and saw an old one... But the " " moment came when I flipped it, expecting to see the familiar ears of wheat... It seems to be a weak strike to start with, I see no evidence of the reverse ghosting into it, so it doesn't seem like a double struck. Could it be real, a 95 year old mint error that has floated around and never got look at? I'm fully expecting everyone to say it's a Magicians coin but it just feels real. 3.4 grams on the scale. and the coin is in medallion position both heads are in basically the same area when flipping side to side, (like Canadian coins) but they are off buy about 10-20 degrees.

Quote: I'm fully expecting everyone to say it's a magicians coin I'm no expert but that cent could be worth a lot if you can find Houdini's initials on it. Sorry I couldnt help it, but who knows maybe I'm wrong.

Quote: Could you post up much better pics? No I really can't Old camera and poor set-up, I hardly ever post pics these days Quote: find Houdini's initials on it. I'm looking... Quote: fake or a magicians coin WHY would anyone make a 1919 penny into a 2 headed coin Edit: I honestly did look at the edge to start with but it was well done and can only been seen on a few angles.

I was at a coin shop this weekend and seen a wheat back from a LMC on a Mercury dime head it was cool but he said they make a lot of them in Ohio and I searched it thourly and it looked perfect like it was done at the mint they used lasers and put a lot of time into it just to try to pass it off to someone to pay big money for that didn't know better

I'm still looking for HH or TT. I imagine that there will be a moment of excitement followed by a significant investigation and a bit of disappointment. Would be thrilling to find the real deal, but finding the Magician's coin would still be fun...if even for an instant.

Quote: WHY would anyone make a 1919 penny into a 2 headed coin For the same reason they would make a two head coin with today's date. Either for coin flipping or as a Magicians coin. People were calling heads or tails back then, and they had magicians back then too. Heck I have a two headed 1806 cent.

I still think doing it to a cent is weird... just too small to flip properly, magician maybe but still it's just too small
