Very good start, there are Canadians that don't have that good of a start.

I am curious. is collecting by type set .. A popular way in Canada.
If so what are they using ... Binders or albums?

I use Gardmaster albums. I can custom change the info on the sheets behind with a Word Document table.

Nice! I too purchased the two albums, new unwrapped, about 10 years ago. They sat empty on my bookshelf until about a year ago when I decided to complete the set. Just about there, about the same progress as you. It was not my main interest but the coins I still need for the series collections I favour are getting a bit pricey. This seemed as nice sideline as I am not too critical on condition. Most are falling in the EF to UNC range and reasonably affordable. I admit, though, I am getting hooked on the type set and may just see if I can get the Dansco albums. How much did the Danscos set you back?

Most all the coins I have so far have been for the silver junk buckets. Most times I am just trying to fill holes. For this set, I hope I can try to find better examples.

That's the way to do it. Fill the holes with whatever you have or can afford so you can enjoy it. Then up-grade as good deals and $$$ come along. I just have some higher value Victorian and Edwardian to complete the type set and I am going to have to accept VF or so.

@GR58. I have a few questions for you regarding the Whitmn albums you picture here. What is the difference between Small and Large Coins albums? Wold you mind just giving me the breakdown?
Thanks!

The small coin type set album has from one cent to twenty-five cent coins.
The large coin set album has fifty cent and dollar coins.
Both have coins from Queen Victoria (starting 1858) to Queen Elizabeth II (ending 1967)

Both the Whitman and the Dansco albums have been out of stock for many years. I got mine on ebay. I bid on a lot of them before I won a auction. Get more post ... so you can buy. In the future I may try and sell these Whitman albums to recover some of the money I spent on the Dansco's.
