Oh yeah, I have looked over his stuff a few times.
I posted a link to a few of his coins in the "Canadian Toned Coin" thread that I started a while ago. He has some of the nicest toned Canadian coins I have seen.

I'm definitely not a Canadian coin collector, but he does have very attractive coins. Prices seem high though... are they?

his coins have been questioned many times over.. There are just to many with the same type of toning and most of it looks AT...

If the toning is not natural he must know what he's doing because I know I wouldn't mess with any coins , especially those of that value!

Yes but wouldn't they comment on that?

They don't grade by "artifical or natural", they deem them "market acceptable" ..... Or "not"... Lol. So yes, some AT'ed coins get deemed market acceptable, and also yes, if it's obviously AT'ed and "not market acceptable" the (US) companies will note "questionable color".

I think PCGS might reject for artificial toning, but probably not the Canadian graders.
I've bought less extravagant looking items from Hugues. The toning appeared natural and they are some of my best looking coins.

Seems funny that ICCS wouldn't at least make note of any artificial toning...I really don't see it being any different than a cleaned coin (artificial toning) and they comment on that. Maybe its a little harder to determine if its natural or artificial toning and if no harm has come to the coin because of the toning process than I guess it may be impossible for them know for sure.
