I bought these raw about 15 years ago. They were advertised on ebay on the same day, from different sellers. They are now both in PMG F-12 holders. Scarce by themselves, but consecutive serial numbers in the same grade!

That's incredible!

That's pretty cool!

I have an acquaintance that has two well circulated, consecutive serial numbered notes from the same small town National bank. He purchased them several years apart. Its kool how their uneven margins fit like a glove when they are placed next to each other.

100% luck when these things happen!

For those who may be interested, the 1929 dated National Currency notes were essentially emergency currency issued during the great depression. I think of them as similar to today's stimulus money. They went into circulation and they circulated hard -- most are well worn. The star notes, such as these posted, had very few numbers issued and are quite scarce and valuable.

Amazing notes! 15 years ago. Must have been the wild west days of ebay when there were more small sellers.

1929 FRBN were also issued during WWII as emergency currency.

Ahh, yes, the wild west days of ebay. When there was only one category called "Coins & Stamps". There was no subcategory for paper money and you had to scan through the listings of round metal things and small perforated paper things to find notes. There was also no search function. Lots of deals could be found because most listings were by coin sellers who knew nothing about paper money. (Got my first ebay account on Christmas Eve 1997.)
