It's been around 2 months since I found either a 90 or 40% half .today I found a bank that had $20 in customer halves shockingly the second roll produced a 1968 D not much but pretty exciting after such a long dry spell

It's been dry for a lot of us. I went almost 2 month with out anything, then hit 3 nickels in 3 boxes. Just keep looking

Congrats.
I have been a slump the last month which does not jive with the normal patterns of results of the last 3 years.

Nice find ... do you look for other things like varieties and die rotations ?
these usually are worth more than finding silver halves

I wish we could get an accurate report on how many silver halves everybody has found in the last 3 years! They do seem scarce now days unless you get lucky.

I found about a dozen 40% halves in all my CRH and life....the majority from CRH last year and this.

@shadz, Do you live in the city or country? I live in a big city and we were finding hundreds of silver halves between 2011-2013. Now I only find them when I go into the bank and ask if they have any at the counter. I haven't been ordering $5000 worth of halves anymore. Too much silver famine in the land!

Nice SF! I haven't found even a 40% in about a year, 'course I'm not looking for halves much. If I were to search $150,000 in dimes I'd find 1,000 silver dimes. (I'll stick with $15k in dimes this year so 100 silver dimes is ok).
When I listen to LED ZEPPELIN...so do my neighbors... Roll hunting since '77 Dirt fishing since '72

Quote: Do you live in the city or country? City, but I cannot do anything like mass sorting. have $500 to play with each month for groceries and cigs, so jsut get it in coins to search and help reduce my smoking when I keep too many coins to afford cigs with. so this is a total of a couple hundred $ loose and 10 boxes.

I think I told the story of most of my US silver already somewhere. The short version. Helping out at a gas station, older lay wanting to buy things like snacks and stuff for her grandkids and was spending coins. included in them that she didn't care bout (she seemed to value her grandkids more than coins) were: 2 morgans 2 Peace dollarsabout 8 rolls of silver roosies 1 Franklin half2 1964 kennedy various 40% kennedys (66~69)that went straight into a Whitman folder (still missing 64 d and 65) at least a roll of bicentennial quarters over the course of the month I was helping there I bought all the coinage she was spending, about $100 worth face and that is what I remember among it other than just normal pocket change. not a very interesting story on how I found them, more interesting in this world of excess wealth hoarding that she valued her family more than anything else. to me that is not something I see very much then or now. sold 1 roll of the dimes (1964) on ebay shortly after for about $15, and sold two rolls to a friend for $10 each, this was about 15 year ago. still have 5 rolls worth of the dimes and everything else that I put into folders, except the bicentennials (needed food). i dont have a 40% ike or anything silver post 1964 (save for the 16969 halves) either. was hoping that 2006 kuwait coin I got yesterday was silver, but alas just copper and nickel I was informed. heck I would be more thrilled to see an Ike in circulation than I was to see the morgans and peace I have because I had to buy my Ikes on ebay just to have any!
