Really cool note Jim......

If you remember the TV series 'Maverick', Bret and Bart said they had a $1000 bill sewn into the liner of their coats.....for emergency use.

I guess they were super high rollers.

Actually it is not uncommon to find many of the 1928 and 1934 $500 and $1000 bills in high grade but with pinholes. It's not a myth, many of the high denoms were pinned inside of one's jackets.

Well, I guess that explains it. Some month's ago I submitted a 1934 $1000 to PMG. It came back AU55 NET. "Closed Pin Hole". I went nuts with a loupe until I found a blemish in the upper left scroll work that I have assumed must be the culprit. Wretched High Rollers!!

Always wondered where the term "C note" came from.....

The "C" comes from the Roman numeral for "100". If the term "C-note" comes from this certificate is possible, but I'm doubting it.
