Well at $625~$725 USD, its not cheap, but if you buy 1 fake gold coin I guess you may be kicking yourself. Really you have to ask yourself "how much do you trust the person/shop that you are buying from?" if the answer is low then maybe this device would be handy.

I wish it were more of an accessory to a smartphone, but I guess for a first gen device it does the job.

This is good for the individual who buys and sells PM's for profit... not just your average collector...

And has to do it fast and through packaging... the item I see as having a pretty good use..

When it comes to collectors and coins.... I think most could still get away with doing a specific gravity test and they will do fine to verify the content of the coin. But if you were doing high volume... I would pick this up sure!
