Here's another coin that has me scratching my head.

It's an 1858 LL Flying Eagle cent that PCGS has graded VF-30.

However, the obverse sure looks beat up to me. What do you think of this grade?

I don't see a weak strike, I see wear.
Way overgraded. F12 at best.

Wow... that is the most over-graded PCGS flying eagle I've every seen. I have a VF-25 and it's way nicer, much more detail.

Here's PCGS Photograde. The Coin should be VG-10 IMO:

Rest in Peace

Definitely not a 30, but I don't think it is a 10 either. Somewhere around a 12 or 15 level.

eBay's rules state that the WHOLE front and back of a slab be show for coins before 1980.
I think that rule is so the potential buyer can determine if the slab has been tampered with.
(The Chinese fake slabs are so good that you couldn't tell from a picture.)

That listing violates the letter of the law.

It is an over graded IMO, if I owned it - it would be on it's way back to PCGS for a re-evaluation and probably they would buy it back about $45-50 difference.
