Framing is better on these, but because the surfaces are more reflective it's even more necessary to have two lights.

For both the Half Dollar and Eagle, are you at max magnification? I ask because in general there is no need to show the holder the coin is in. Zoom-in more if you can, and if you can't then crop the coin, but not too close. Leave a little around the coin so it doesn't look like it's going right to the edge of the image.

I won't disagree with the two-light suggestion
BUT
IMO the overall lighting is too strong and the image is washing out a bit.

Thanks very much for the helpful hints everyone. I need to try an additional light source but keep the lighting soft enough that they don't wash out...and, move in closer or crop to have the coin fill the frame. Again, thanks!

Are you opening the air-tite holder or shooting through the plastic?

They look pretty good. I would crop it to have just the coin as the others have said.
