I have a couple of questions about this coin. First could it be called a "True" Missing F initial. Also, is it possible someone tried to enhance the feather on the eagles left hand side tail feathers because in that area it seems as though details are weak or is it just PMD? I posted a picture with arrows pointing to the area in question.

Over polishing of the die removed portions on the devices. Not a missing "FG" as they are still present. They are the result of a worn/over polished die. The "FG" is part of the design and added to the die during the hubbing. Un like a missing mint mark that could have been forgotten on a proof 1982 dime. I see no extra premium for these, but others are interested. Give me a EDS die struck coin and I'm happier.
