Just for Fun some pic's of differently toned Canberra Florins.
Is interesting to see the different tones and shades of color that this coin can attain.
These are just a random selection from my few Canberra Florins and the pic's are NOT perfect but it should give you a rough idea as to the different looking coins .
I have a few "Blast White" coins but I much prefer the differently toned coins which gives them their own individual personality

Nice pics, Trout.
This is certainly a spectacular coin.
I can see why you collect those.

HeHeHe, Bloody Stirrer
None of these are High grade coins But the Design is still all there and I personally think that some of the aged and circulated coins are FAR more attractive than the Blast white coins.
I have many high graded MS Canberra coins but my personal favorite is a mere MS62 coin.

1st, 3rd and 2nd last have great toning. The third looks like the best closely followed by the 2nd coin. I'm a sucker for nicely toned coins. Nice collection

I agree with Shane, that 2nd last is the nicest toning wise (though the last one is better in terms of steps and still has a nice tone).

I have Many of these coins simply because I enjoy the design and over the years I have been hunting for super high grade coins.
The best I have achieved so far is 3 MS65 coins, But quite frankly I much prefer the lower graded coins to the "Bling" ones.
I recently paid $100 for a coin I would grade at only AU55/58 simply because it has 3 steps, a great strike and the toning is beautiful.
A great coin doesn't have to be super high grade it just needs the "WOW" factor for me

I couldn't agree more trout. I think sometimes that the coin gets forgotten with this obsession with Sheldon grading points. And that is a sad thing.
Your coins have a lot more character

Thanks Mate
I must admit that when I started sending coins away to the "Plastics Factory" I was obsessed with getting high grades and forgot about why I bought the coins in the first place.
I am STILL obsessed with getting super high grades for my Decimal stuff because it is a learning curve for me as far as grading goes.
ALL my pre decimal coins are pretty much "Run of the Mill" but I have always had a soft spot for the commemorative florins especially the Canberra coins.
I have an album full of these and I don't think that there is two the same.
Like you say it is best to appreciate the coin first the worry about the grades later , After all it is OUR collections and we will collect what we enjoy at the end of the day.
