It looks like the Indian cent obverse clash to me! Don't know if it would be problem-free though. Westcoin should be along soon.

Looks like it to me too! Nice pick up if it is. I can't tell if the die crack is between the T and S in cents, but I think I see the diagonal crack from the E of Cents to the Wreath. I still have never cherry picked one of these, though I do now have 3 of them all slabbed from VF to MS63. This one looks like a strong EF to AU grade, but may be detail graded for a cleaning, possibly, can't say for sure, but I don't really see any major issues with it. Very nice Waxemm did you win this one?

Yeah I bought it. I figured at the price it was close enough to value to take the chance on it. I can't wait to get it and get a closer look. It does have a couple of small dings but nothing major. I guess I will have to hold off sending in the other one till this one gets in.

Quote: I can't tell if the die crack is between the T and S in cents That's the only part I am having a hard time seeing as well, Might be covered up though. The nose seems to be there. What caught my eye was that die crack that follows along the pearl necklace line.

Good luck on it, let us know when you get it in hand, if it is a fabulous score!

Got it on Saturday. It's definitely got the clash. Looks like it's going to be in the 45-53 range. Still trying to narrow down on the grading. It doesn't look like it's been cleaned. It may need to be "restored" in order to see the clash fully. Not sure about that yet. Again, I'm still trying to figure out all the small things. I'm going to send it in this week along with some other coins. Still trying to figure out the entry form. A little confusing.

As a newbie to this variety, can you tell me where and what to look for? I have tried to figure it out but am not seeing it.
Thanks!

Whoo-Hoo! Super score then!! Gets a 'you suck" award, I can't pick one of these for the life of me, been searching coin shows and online for almost 20 years and this is one I regularly look for. Congrats on the fantastic find.

This is a cool variety, akin to the Flying Eagle cent clashes. Thanks for posting that link, Waxemm. This relatively soft clash would have otherwise been tough for my aging eyes to discern! Is there somewhere a website that lists all known double-denomination, clashed U.S. coins? While die clashes aren't major errors, the double denomination aspect makes this one intriguing to me. The stronger the clash and higher the grade, the more desirable these seem to be. Another member recently posted a Seated Liberty coin, having such a strong die clash that Lady Liberty's nose resembled that of Pinocchio! I'd not before seen that one, either. That one and this Two Cent Piece are two clashes that I'll now have to look for!

westcoin I just got plain ole lucky. I'm not sure how long it sat there before I saw it. It was hard to see. The die crack is what caught my attention.

I picked up an AU58 Two Cent clash earlier this year and you have to have the light hit it just right and the the IHC profile presents herself.
