Hi there,

What do you think the grade of this coin is?

It was graded by a TPG.

Note that on the reverse all scratches, lines you see are directly on the plastic slab - not the coin.

Gotta be MS-something but after that I'm useless, I'd go with 65 because this sounds like a trick question.

Beautiful, I'm wavering between MS64 and 65, but would say MS65.

very nice Victory Sachsen thaler .I would say an ms66 coin
It is a commemorative coin from the Francoprussian war of 1871.Other states which issue victory thalers for this particular war Prussia,Bavaria and Bremen.

Lovely coin , this is in my wish list. I have Prussian and Bremen victory thalers. Was there any proofs issued for these ?

Hi gents,

Thanks for your input. Most of you were close. It was actually graded as a 64.
I was a little disappointed. I expected a 65 or even 66 according to other coins I have and what I've seen.

Perhaps the patina - the contrast between the obverse and reverse is a little much - and that knocked it down a little.

Any ideas?!
