apparently ICCS doesn't think so. I sold it on the bay as a 5/5. The buyer submitted it to ICCS and it came back unattributed. I refunded the coin just to maintain good relations. But I think ICCS missed it. Or am I missing something?

Did the buyer indicate a 5/5 on the ICCS submission form?
Absent any specific request, ICCS may have simply overlooked the variety.
Did ICCS not attribute the variety because they claimed it was not or
did they just not identify the variety.

I looked at the example on CoinsandCanada.com .
All your features agree with that example BUT-----I contend that your example was mis-struck (probably a planchet flaw) . Part of the feature did not adhere to downward stroke of the 5, balled up molten and fell into the crook of the 5.
All in all ---I would say it was a 5/5, but you will have to convince the world with more science and closer study---good luck for your find. ! Tell us what you finally decide.

I thought I heard that ICCS would only certify a variety if it was requested and already published in a book like Charlton.
Feel free to call me Will.
