Kinda looks like a BIE in the making. Or pending what year split plating or gas bubble. Thanks, Doug.

I could be wrong, but it looks copper, so I would rule out a plating issue. They look like small die chips.

The B might be PMD or a die crack and the E looks like a die crack,IMHO.

The "BE" has a coin contact in that area, affecting the inside edges of these two devices. Note sure what that is under the "E"? Is it on thee surface of the coin, or part of the planchet. I've seen die cracks like that one, but the round areas I've not see before? Almost looks like a clear glue.
