Don't feel bad. One time I got 3 boxes of nickels and the only thing I found was a bus token from Pennsylvania. (I got those boxes from a bank in Charlotte NC.)
So I'm about 30$ in and all I've found is a couple 2009 D's, and 2 1950's nickels( 55 d and 59d) . I got a euro penny, Canadian penny, and a 20 cent Singapore piece.
Should I keep searching? I see markings on alot of the rolls, so I'm almost positive they've been searched.
I would keep searching. In my area which is Northern Utah I have had the best luck at Wells Fargo. I have about 18 boxes searched and 13 wars 3 proofs, 2 buffaloes, 1 v nickle and various error and foreign coins. Its by far my favorite box to search.
I dont' search nickels often, but when I was, I was getting someone's solid 1938-1964 dumps. Hundreds, if not thousands. I hoarded them. Later, I too dumped them.
When I listen to LED ZEPPELIN...so do my neighbors... Roll hunting since '77 Dirt fishing since '72
