What a hassle this coin has turned out to be... I received a coin from the seller today, but it certainly isn't the one he had listed (see below images - quick iPhone pictures). The coin the seller sent is a heavily worn and polished coin. I sent the seller a message asking if he had shipped the wrong coin, and after a few messages back and fourth he is saying that I am trying to scam him. "In my opinion you're trying to pull as fast one. Open up a case and let E-Bay see what you're up to" The guy has 100% feedback with over 1750 transactions. I will open a case with ebay, and see what happens.

It's a completely different coin from the one pictured in the listing. This coin is AU Details (Polished).

Blatantly different. If you open a case, don't leave a negative right away. It will be removed. Wait a few weeks.

When I initially told the seller that he sent the wrong coin, he said that he only had one 1898-O Morgan.
Then, after he told me that I was trying to scam him, he found out from his girlfriend that he did indeed have another 1898-O (The one I purchased).
I will keep this thread up to date for the outcome.

MS64 and might make a MS65 holder. Not seeing PL on it though.

The seller issued a full refund, and told me that I could keep the coin he sent.

Add the seller to the discouraged sellers list. There is no way his girlfriend knows more about the coins he's selling than he does. Complete B.S.

Quote: The seller issued a full refund, and told me that I could keep the coin he sent. Well, my take on that would be he thought you were a rube he could put one over on, and when you called him out, his math and thinking was, well that nice one went too cheap, and better that I just lose a $20 cull than pay more shipping, and I'll make it up anyway when I resell the nice one for what I wanted to get out of it in the first place. This kind of "bribe" to back out of having to honor a winning bid that wasn't as high as the seller had hoped happens all the time on ebay - at least when the seller isn't instead giving the lame excuse that now he can't find the item, and issues a refund on that basis. Lots of ways to be less than a stand up guy under ebay rules.
