I would like to say hi to everyone in this forum and I have just brought a piece of the Australia 1963 Queen elizabeth II florin silver coin with golden toning surface. It comes with the beautiful golden toning surface with shining luster on both sides. However, the coin is in brilliant uncirculated condition which was brought by me at those eldely dealers within the territory of my place in my country and I can search for so many difference coins with beautiful toning surface to be honest with you. The dealer shops are small as the storeroom in my house and their pieces are special and unusual to put up for sale right now.I would apprieiciate for you as usual. Please check the scans below and let me know what you think there.Thank you

G'day, I think it is from PVC. I have some three pence that are similar.

Rarietiescoinlover has shown a few coins with this golden toning so I'm just wondering if it may be a combination of storage & climate in his neck of the woods ( country/Malaysia ),just a thought.

Not a bad though, AA. Could it be that PVC deteriorates more quickly in warn, humid environments?

The beautiful golden toning on the surface from my personal opinion which were caused by the hot weather, high tempreture and huminity in my country to be honest with you but I think it is not caused it to have those shade from the transparent pvc coin album after keeping along with them for so many years because I kept most of the pieces in the white cards there.Thank you

The white cards that you kept the coins with would most likely be made from acidic wood pulp that probably has sulphur and other substances. You get toning from push in albums and most paper because they are not inert archival material.

I would like to let you know the beautiful golden toning surface as natural toning surface but not those artificial toning surface which produced from the plastic album and coin holder right for sure to be honest with you.For anyone who does not believe it and my suggestion right for you can try those methods which other members mentioned ealier and let us see those belove coins which can tone to the similar shade like the piece belongs to me or not and it would not change to the similar shade as the beautiful golden toning surface there.Thank you
