One of the first "expensive" coins I purchased with my paper route money back in 1976. I think I paid a little over $300 back then at a coin convention in Santa Barbara, CA, and of course it was raw. Thanks for looking.

I'd say this was B-14 BB-167. If so, it's probably better than VF-30; Liberty's hair is always struck weakly in this variety. Very pretty!

$300 was a lot of money back then - like two months rent!

Was the event staged at the Earl Warren Showgrounds? And may I ask when you finally had it certified?

Great coin, much more eye appeal than the grade would lead you to believe it would have.

Yes, it was a Earl Warren Showgrounds were the show was held. Don't recall when I sent to PCGS, probably 1996-1999 time frame.

Thank you confusion. Is there any significance to the issue of the slab date? Just wondering.

Spectacular. That's one sweet coin!

And $300 back in 1976 is now a couple thousand. I wonder how the coins I buy now will fare in 30 years...

No, between Feb 2002 and Nov 20052. It has the barcode on the front of the label. The earlier slab has it on the back label.
