I go with 65, 66, 64, but look at the wide range of opinions here even among people who I'm sure are very good at grading coins.

The mark on the chin in the first coin holds it back.

OK, get this: They were posted in order of grade, lowest to highest. Do you believe it?

There's a point to be made here regarding the grading variation of even a reputable TPG, in this case NGC. These pics were taken directly from Heritage auction results.

If it were me, they'd all 3 be MS64's. For the record, the best reverse was on the first coin, the "actual" 64. It was pristine.

Dave you illustrate a point that I have come to notice since I got back into collecting in the past year. Although the top TPG's generally do a pretty good job, they are not perfect. And this imperfection in the Uncirculated grades lead to big price differences in coins that are virtually identical. This is the reason I am buying more 'low-grade' Uncirculated coins instead of higher priced examples. I would much rather have a few MS-64's than one MS-66 anyway! For the coins pictured I have no idea how the bottom coin could be in an MS-66 slab.

I agree, I am shocked the bottom was the higher grade Morgan. I thought the First Morgan was the nicest.

I felt like tallying up the stats. There are six possible combinations:
65,66,64 = 7 votes
66,65,64 = 4
64,66,65 = 4
66,64,65 = 1
66,65,64 = 0
64,65,66 = 0

Total votes with the last coin judged worst = 11 / 16
Total votes with the last coin judged best = 0 / 16
Strangely, it's the first coin with the most variation, it was pretty evenly spread between 64, 65, and 66 (4,5,7).

Dave, out of curiosity, what do you think the first coin would grade less the cheek scratch.

Without that one scratch, it's 65 all day and maybe 66. Yes, there are other marks on the cheek, but notice that the fields are almost untouched. The reverse is almost pristine, easy 66 and possibly 67. Minus the one mark, I could see it in a 66 slab.
