This is an interesting anomoly on the reverse of this 41-P Mercury dime .

Interesting...I see a lamination but I also see struck detail in the area of the lamination. The design that overlaps the lamination looks weak and mushy. I think that the planchet developed a lamination before the coin was struck.

Looks like strike through to me with some of it still being there.

Looks to me like a strike through a piece of wire from a wire brush or something.
