I'm just getting back into coin collecting, and thought I'd start it off with a bang Called up my local BofA and had them order me two boxes of Halves...should be here by Monday. Can't wait!

Good luck, and make sure you get them as soon as they are in, so no one poaches 'em.

I have always had good luck with the first box of any denomination I went with.
It usually goes downhill from there.

Thanks for the well wishes! So I couldn't resist the urge, and I picked up a box of nickels last night. Not bad, 2 War Nickels (45-P, 45-S) and a 1980 Bermuda nickel (with a cool looking fish on it!). Also a 78-D that was pretty much BU (full steps and pillars on reverse). Not bad for my first box in 8 years lol.

jjc2779,
What kind of averages did you have 8 years ago?

Mr Click, I don't have the exact data anymore (lost it with my old computer), but if my memory serves me correctly, I would do 1-2 boxes of nickels a week (did that for about 4 months) and this is what I got out of it: (almost) complete set of Jeffersons 1938-2006 (I was missing 5, all key/semi-key dates accounted for) around 20-25 Buffalos (no key dates, nothing spectacular) around 30-40 silver War Nickels6 liberty (V) nickels about 20 foreign coins a handful of error coins (die-cracks, laminations, die-clash, etc.) nothing overly exciting, but I still kept them Sidenote: the most interesting find I had during my previous CRH stint was a Merc dime...while searching a box of pennies!

It usually goes downhill from there. I just grabbed 2 boxes of pennies for my first hunt, maybe I should have went with nickels/dimes!
