I hope this guy realizes that his overtelling of the story right away will scare people off.

But I guess it's fooled some as there are bids.

I started choking on my powerade when I read the "THERE WAS THE GHOST OF UNCLE CHARLIE, TRYING TO PICK HIS COINS UP"

I honestly don't know what to make of all that. Doesn't seem like a typical seller of fakes, and has been an ebay member for over 9 years, but may not realize that the coins' Chinese provenance (provided that detail in his tale is as credible as any of the rest of it) is actually good cause from the get-go to doubt their authenticity from a numismatic standpoint. Folks who are into the paranormal and are buying into the background story may not care whether they're real or not, though.

Haha the story is a joke. I like the "I don't know what CC means but if you're into coins I'm sure you do"

I wouldn't buy this even if it's real.

Yeah, I noticed that line, too. Laying it on pretty thick there. That makes me think he does know they're counterfeits.

Wow this guy has quite a few auctions with the same sort of song and dance. I am amazed that there is a market for this crap. I've got all sorts of "haunted" junk I need to put on ebay.

He's added updated descriptions to them trying to cover up if they may possibly be fake.

Too bad people have already bid them through 100 dollars.

Apparently ebay is going to turn a blind eye to these obvious counterfeits. According to the seller they did take them to several coin shops to be examined but they had never seen a Trade dollar before. My question: What kind of coin ship hasn't ever seen a Trade dollar?

What I learned is this: In the five-year run that Trade dollars were minted, less than 36 million pieces were struck.

I wonder where he is getting this info.

Well the picture of the house in the listing came from here... http://www.postandcourier.com/artic...04/310179925 An is located in South Carolina

Edit: Now I am sure they are full of it. I was looking at another listing they have:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/1930-CIRCUL...em2592806c43

In that listing they state "The couple that lives in the old Mill house inherited it and they are the sixth generation to occupy the structure. The wheel hasn't been used in many years but the couple still does sell home grown vegetables, fresh laid eggs and other items that their ancestors before them sold. "

Well as it turns out that is White's Mill in Abingdon, Virginia and is a historic site and nobody actually lives there.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White%...n,_Virginia)
http://www.whitesmill.org/

ebay might take down the listings due to copyright infringement. Most of their listings seem to have stolen pictures.
