hi all I need help identifying this nickel if it really is a 1943 /2 I can see the impression of the 2 starting under the top of the 3 just cant get a good picture

It does not appear to have the "hook" at the bottom serif of the "3"

This is a common die break mistaken for the overdate.

Well it's not that common. I've seen a dozen of them over the years and about five of the overdate. Once you see the overdate it's easy to spot.
Time don't fly, it bounds and leaps.

Does not look like a 43/2 to me. Type key words in the search box upper left of page.

I wish I could get a better pic it is double stamped on date wich makes the top of the 2 sticking out of the 3 very hard to photograph but I can see it poking out of the tip could it be a 2 I will try and get a better pic

I see it doesn't have serif on 3 but did you see the bottom of 2 sticking out of 3

The 3/2 shows much stronger at the bottom of the 3 than at the top. So if you are seeing something at the top you should definitely see the the base of the 2 within the bottom loop of the 3.

No this is not the 43/2 and this is not a doubled die. Its just a normal 1943 Nickel. A 43/2 doesn't just show on the 3 it shows on rest of date and Liberty.

Just a VLDS die struck coin. The die shows heavy die flow in fields.
