1. I use 6x9 bubble mailers. You can buy them off ebay for really cheap. If you are doing coins, you could use smaller ones. 2. I use ebay to print my labels. You should do that, it saves money and time. 3. Not quite sure what you mean by this one. If you are talking about scanning an item in, then no, you don't have to do that. It's easy to list, and if you have any other problems with it, we can help. Good luck, hope that helps!

When I started selling and sold a lot of very inexpensive coins, I used bubble mailers that I had saved. They worked just fine as long as I taped them shut well. Agree that using the ebay system for postage is the way to go, but you can use stamps also for very small/light packages.

Use the eBay/paypal for shipping, cheaper and you get free tracking. Even if your shipping something not connected to an ebay sale use paypal/shipnow you still get the discount

I use 5x7 padded mailers. I also use ebay's shipping. It is cheaper than going to the post office plus the price includes tracking which is extra at the post office. It's also very convenient to be able to print off the labels at home and just put the coin in the mailbox. I charge $2.75 for a coin shipped to the U.S. (up to three ounces costs $1.93 so I don't charge more for additional purchases in the same mailer). I figure I lose a few cents on each package I mail when I figure in cost of the mailer, ebay shipping, ebay final fees and other materials, but I'm OK with that. I want to keep my shipping fees as low as I reasonably can. I'm not sure what you mean by "machine readable method for posting".

If you buy the bubble mailers off of ebay, I can get 25 6x9's for 26 cents each. Smaller ones are cheaper like 13 cents each or something like that. If you charge $2.50 for shipping, you'll be over covered. I don't think many people will be mad about $2.50 shipping, but you may consider just adding free shipping and bumping everything up $2.50 or so.

Thank you all, much appreciated the comments. I saw in another post that you can use "machine readable " option when posting so the the mail is not machine sorted. I guess less chance of damaging the coin.

You mean nonmachinable maybe? That is how I've always heard it. I use it so the machines won't tear up the envelope when I just use a plain envelope and stamp on a coin. I think it costs 10-20 cents, so it is good to use.

Royal Mailers may be able to get bubble envelopes to you cheaper than most other sites. It is what we use.

One thing to remember is that UPS gives you free $100 worth of insurance and priority mail gives you $50. If the post office loses your coin, you will be out the money and the coin. I am actually going to the coin show and see what they will give me for coins I would sell using 1st class package. People generally take shipping into consideration what they will pay for a coin and won't purchase anything that isn't a significant mark-down from list price. It can sometimes pay just to sell them local at a B&M shop or a local coin show and there is no risk of you being out the money and the coin if USPS loses it. One coin I have sold has been out for a week and half and still has not been delivered.
