I have bought similar Lincoln's for around $5.00. But not with printing on the extra piece. Are these type of errors worth $30.00. I don't collect I buy for gifts for my friends sone who like errors. Thanks for you input
The indent was caused because the coin was not fully ejected from the chamber. Stuck onto a second coin thus the reverse does not show the devices from the second strike. It would be nice if you had both coins as it would be worth a lot more. But it is what it is. Still a great error.
The second strike was prevented in that area because the next coin was in the chamber. thus the obverse was affected the the reverse was not in contact with the reverse die, just the planchet.
