I am a big type guy I love type sets, and I think putting a world bullion collection together is another great way to kind of a do a type set but with world bullion coins. I was thinking when I had enough of them I'd get an empty silver rounds dansco or whitman album and a label maker and make my own album. I have bought 5 so far US Eagle, Canadian Maple Leaf, Mexican Libertad, Chinese Panda and Austrian Philharmonic. I think my next three will be the Australian Kookaburra and Koala and the UK Brittania. I kind of made a list can anyone else think of any others? United States Silver Eage Canada Maple Leaf Mexico Libertad China Panda Austria Philharmonic Australia KookaburraAustralia Koala Australia Lunar Australia Kangaroo United Kingdom Brittania Fiji Taku (turtle) New Zealand Kiwi Armenia Noahs Ark Cook Islands Ship Somalia Wild Elephant Malawi Springbrok Andora Eagle Suriname Suriname Rwanda Cheetah Russia George the Victorious

It so easy to be tempted to expand a crown sized bullion collection that includes a lot of the more common World crowns of the 19th and 20th century, in say VF or better condition, that can be obtained for not much of a premium over bullion value.
Although for the most part I do not collect bullion coins, I have about sixty World silver crowns in VF or better of the 19th and 20th centuries; they make for a satisfying, even if very incomplete type set of this series.
Occasionally I am tempted to go the OTHER way, and a obtain a modern proof crown, if it is a bargain, and the cost is reasonable.

I might have to expand to the world crowns when I complete my bullion collection I like that idea. I love that Australian croc I'll have to add it to the list.

Just know that they are not all the same size so a generic silver rounds album will not hold them perfectly. If I remember right my silver rounds book(for sale or trade by the way in the trade section) is 40mm and a Silver Eagle is 41mm. I could remember wrong but I didn't think the SAE fit.

I have also been trying to put together a list like this. Here a few others on my list of world silver bullion.
Kazakhstan Silver Irbis (Snow Leopard) Ukraine Archangel Guernesey 8 Doubles
Also, the Fiji Taku is changing to the Niue Turtle. It will be the same basic turtle design from what I've seen.

I forgot a couple: the Isle of Man Silver Noble, and Zambia had an Elephant from 1993-2003.
After I started collecting these for a while, I got a little frustrated that I ran out of easy ones without paying a ton to get the high priced ones. To deal with that, since I didn't want to get into taking on lunar sets or trying to complete sets of designs that have changed every year (Koala, Panda, etc), I started collecting some variants on the standard bullion issues and some small sets that are easier to find and still offer variation. Here are some examples, but I would love to hear from anybody else that has ideas for new small sets.
The Canada Wildlife Series from 2011-2013 is a fun one to collect. The first couple have higher premiums now, but it is still very attainable. I was going to pass on it, until I ran out of other easier coins to get.
The Peregrine Falcon mentioned above is part of their new Birds of Prey series that has 3 more coin designs to be released and will go through 2015.
The Maple Leaf has had 3 different portraits of the queen through the years. It's fun to try to get one of each.
The Maple Leaf has a 25th anniversary bullion coin out from 2013 that is available at about the same price as a standard SML.
Libertads have had 3 different designs over the years. One of each can offer a slight challenge to find, but doesn't cost more than standard bullion.
South America doesn't seem to have any government issued bullion, so I found the Blue Macaw from Bolivia. It's a round, not a coin, so maybe I'm cheating a little. But, it's beautiful! Easily one of my favorites.

One more thought. (Sorry, but I get really excited about 1 oz silver!!) Check on old thread on CCF called "My hoard/collection: 1oz-ers from around the world, Canada+". I think that's the name for it. When I first started collecting these in early 2013, that thread really lit the fuse for me. It has a ton of great pictures that will have you drooling. Some of them are not in my budget and are more on the numismatic side than most bullion, but they are still great to look it.

Could you link the Blue Macaw? I have been to Bolivia and would love to add that one to my collection.

I think that there is a fine line (well maybe not so fine} between world silver bullion and NCLTs. I collect world bullion and have some basic criteria. They must be part of a gov't program to spur their country's investment in silver. They must be issued yearly in the same, or same thematic, design, mintage cannot be under 100.000, except in the case of smaller countries where the population won't support the numbers. They must be issued as close to spot as ASE's,SML's Phil's are. World bullion is not issued at $100/oz, NCLT's are. If you try to collect all the world's NCLT's , good luck, hope you have deep pockets. Trying to get a nice collection of every country's bullion program, is fun and relatively inexpensive. Adding in NCLTs is nice, but makes it a world silver collection, not a world silver bullion collection

The nice thing is since I am in the infancy of collecting these its still pretty easy. Lunch Money mentioned the Lunar series or the panda that changes design every year the nice thing is since I am just starting I could just pick my favorite design or the easiest one to get and move onto the next country. Like for the Lunar I want to get the dragon simply because I am the year of the dragon. When I grabbed my panda I just got the easiest one to get (some chinese pandas can cost a fortune). I did worry about the album not fitting every round just thought it would be a nice way to display it. Right now they just reside on top of books.

I tried doing one of these sets but lost interest real quick. I had about 7 to 9 pieces, but only have the 2009 Kangaroo at Sunset (Privy F12) 1989 Canadian Silver Maple Leaf and my ASE. ...and the HOF Baseball.

denco7 - I agree that there is a distinction between bullion and NCLT. Just sticking to the definition of bullion that you have here (which I pretty much agree with), I found that I ran out of options for new coins to add. So I got creative, with the Blue Macaw for example. Each person will probably have their own criteria for putting together their world silver (bullion) set. For me, I limit it to .999 silver coins that are within a certain percentage of the spot price. And I'm not even very true to my own rules, as that percentage over spot will change if I really fall in love with a design. I like mostly 1 oz, but I've got some 1/2's and 1.5's also. I try to stay away from coins that have been colorized, too. They are usually the pricier ones, so its an easy decision not to get them. Solidifier - The Blue Macaw is made by Royal Silver. They claim to have highest purity, at .99999 (Five 9's), and an eco-friendly manufacturing process. That all seems gimmicky to me, but like I said, I really like the design. Their other designs really don't do it for me. And I just needed one to represent South America as I globe-trot the silver world. I just wanted one coin and was not comfortable ordering something from Bolivia to the US and paying the shipping (and maybe they were backordered when I bought?). Anyway, I bought it from ebay. Here's the link about the coin/round: http://www.royalsilver.com/retailst...d_product=26Disclaimer: I have no interest at all in Royal Silver, other than thinking that their coin is a great design and the quality is about as perfect as I've seen.
